NEWS: 温维安吁驾车者勿随手往外丢 车内应准备小垃圾箱

Source: Nanyang.com 北马  地方新闻 2011-11-29 13:36 (大山脚28日讯)威省市议员温维安希望驾车人士在车内准备小垃圾箱或纸袋,别再随意将垃圾往车外抛。 绿意槟城车贴推介礼 他今日在大山脚分发2500张“绿意槟城——请别把垃圾丢出车外”车镜贴纸给公众的推介仪式上这么表示。 他希望驾车人士改变乱丢垃圾的劣习,别再将香烟盒、烟蒂、矿泉水罐、塑胶袋及果皮等垃圾把垃圾往车外抛,因为这种行为不但污染环境,加重市议会员工作在清除垃圾的工作,也威胁道路使用者的安全。 他说,配合2012年全新的清洁承包制度和新委任的承包商,威省市议会将加强执法,开出最高250令吉的罚款单给垃圾虫。 大山脚区国会议员章瑛指驾车人士喜欢将垃圾往车外丢,显示公众的公民意识不高,因此,她表示希望通过教育改变他们的不正确观念,从而将不良的恶习摒弃。 摒弃不良恶习 “政府须雇用清洁工友处理垃圾,如果大家不乱丢垃圾,将减低市议会的开销而将资金用在其他利民的发展上。” 巴当拉浪区州议员陈宗兴希望通过分派车镜贴纸运动提高公众的公民意识,共同打造完好的环境。 威省市议员沈志强说,槟州每天的垃圾产量高达100万公斤。而个人每天所生产的垃圾量为1.2公斤,远比全国个人每天平均只有800克垃圾产量来得高。因此,这种现象的发生,使到市议会的开销大大增加。
